Viola papilionacea - Wild Violets

These wild violets are growing on a bank in the back yard. They have taken over a good size area and are considered a weed. I did not plant them but I must admit that I enjoy their flowers each spring. The color is a lavendar-white and I like the heart-shaped leaves. This perennial looks nice growing on the bank in the shade so for me it's not yet a weed.
