Columbine is an easy shade perennial for the garden. It does well in moist soil and many varieties reseed easily. Many plants are not long-lived but because they reseed you can continue to enjoy these plants for a long time. They bloom in early spring here but I got to enjoy a 2nd spring in Ohio last week.
