Gaura lindheimeri - Whirling Butterflies/Gaura

Gaura is a tough, sun perennial that handles the drought really well. This plant reaches 2-3 feet and is covered in white flowers that fade to pink. The wiry stems seem to easily blow in the wind which describes the common name -- whirling butterflies. When flowering is over cut back the stems to get a 2nd flush of blooms later this summer.
