Euonymus alatus - Winged Euonymus

This slow growing deciduous shrub really comes alive in the fall as it changes from a flat green to a brilliant red. This shrub grows wider than tall but can reach 15-20 feet. Can also be pruned into a small tree. The stems have corky wings which helps in identification. Native to Asia. This plant is in my neighbors backyard.
