I started this blog a year ago as a hobby and I have truly enjoyed it. I remember needing something positive to help me get thru winter when I posted those first pictures. It has been good therapy for me to document the plants that I enjoy. Once again I am longing for spring.
Photographed with me are my 8 bantam hens. They are a key part of my integrated pest management ---they eat bugs! I've tried to be forgiving when they dig & scratch in my landscaped beds so I have a few mulched spaces dedicated for them. They're adding fertilizer to the ground and providing fresh eggs & entertainment for me. They also eat table scraps. They are truly beneficial to the landscape and are excellent pets.
I'm planning ahead for spring already and I hope you are too. I've picked out the seeds that I want to start and now is a great time to buy them while the selection is good. If you live in my area then hold tight - it won't be long till we can get dirty again. My daffodils are already halfway up.
Feel free to email me anytime.
