Impatien x hawkeri - New Guinea Impatien

New Guinea impatiens were collected & brought to the US in the early 70's. They were initially marketed as impatiens for full sun but it seems they do best with some afternoon shade.
These wonderful annuals come in a vast array of colors with green to almost burgandy foliage.
Moisture is key to their performance.
and yes...they are native to New Guinea (and Africa).
