Angel's trumpet is a large perennial here in Atlanta. Often it looks like a large shrub with a main stalk or a small tree. The plant itself doesn't really catch my eye until these large pendulous blooms (trumpets) appear in the summer.
I think it's often hard to find the right spot in the landscape for this plant but it does well in full sun and light shade and I like to see it grouped with other plants instead of planted all alone as a specimen. The flowers themselves are an amazing show. Flowers are also fragrant.
It is native to South America and all parts of the plant are toxic if ingested.
