This little perennial fern grows 16-24 inches tall and becomes a moderate groundcover over time. It spreads by underground rhizomes and does best in shady, fertile soil. It's an excellent choice for a lower growing fern but it isn't very easy to find in garden centers. It is native to China and seems to be more invasive in cooler regions.
