Lycoris radiata - Spider Lily or Resurrection Flower

This is one of my favorite bulbs because you can forget about it and then out of nowhere these stalks emerge and within a few days these stunning red flowers appear. This bulb is also important because it blooms in the fall when so many other plants are fading. The spider lily has long stamens that extend beyond the petals. Plants grow 12-18 inches tall and the grass-like foliage emerges after the blooming period and lasts thru the winter.
This particular bulb came from my grandmother's yard and was unknowingly planted with the daffodil bulbs that are currently dormant.
Thrives with full sun in zones 7-10.
