Tardiva is an excellent cultivar of the summer hydrangea. Each inflorescence is about 6 inches long and it flowers in mid to late summer.
This shrub grows really fast in sun or part shade. It flowers on new wood and can be pruned anytime over the winter months. I often see it limbed up as a small tree or kept as a coarse shrub in the border. Great white flowers when few other plants are in bloom.
