We harvested a lot of potatoes while in Kenya. There were beautiful fields full of white and lavendar blooms. The potatoes were golden.
Potatoes are a starchy tuberous crop and is the 4th largest food crop in the world.
After some varietes finish blooming they have small green fruit (contains seed) that resemble cherry tomatoes.
It is a myth that all of the nutrients are found in the potato skin. Over 50% are found within the potato itself so eat up!
